Innovative and productive with epoxy resins,

electrical engineering.

Epoxy resins are among the polymers most often used in electrical engineering. They are for example utilised in insulators for power transmission lines or for the construction of turbines and control units. These are fields of application for which EPOXONIC offers ideal systems. Because products by EPOXONIC are characterised by extraordinary electrical insulation properties, especially for high-voltage and outdoor applications. They are used for the production of large-volume components, fulfil the flame protection requirements due to suitable filler material and have very good mechanical strengths. Classification of the resins up to heat class H (up to 180°C) are possible. Also the high dimensional accuracy as well as the high resistance against the tendency to creep speak in favour of epoxy resins. And of course, vacuum casting and pressure gelation procedure ensure optimum dielectric strength.

Application examples:

  • Chemical-resistant casting resins with minimised thermal expansion, high thermal resistance as well as excellent electrical insulation properties are for example used when casting high-voltage connectors (EPOXONIC 344).
  • Epoxy resins are ideally suited for stator casting of electric drives since they have a high thermal conductivity and are flame-resistant. The required flexibility is stable up to a continuous operating temperature of 150°C.
  • Tough casting resins are first choice for sensors and slip rings. They are characterised by their good thermal and chemical resistance as well as their excellent flow properties.
  • Resins are used as casting compound in electronic control units for machine tools. Their advantages are their very low thermal expansion as well as their chemical resistance to cooling lubricants.
